Peer Arts Practice Group

A part of RRHC’s (Rural Response for Healthy Children) Opening Doors for Women in Huron, supported by Status of Women Canada.

While culture is considered the Fourth Pillar of sustainable development, we need to take steps to be a part of that development.

The community arts partnership Worth Their Salt – Linda Wiebe and Karen Melady – were engaged by RRHC to design and facilitate a project to help women in Huron County improve their economic outcomes.

Our focus -  women in the arts.

We asked women from varied locations, ages, stages in their arts practice to explore the how of making our art by using visual and written arts processes and peer feedback.

Out of our visual arts process each woman created a vessel representing their creative practice. The exhibit Launching Vessels is on display at Elizabeth’s Art Gallery in Goderich until Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Worth Their Salt also developed a Creative Report for our Peer Arts Practice Group project.
